Rosicrucian Museum, San Jose

This saturday, I visited a place less than 20 mins drive from my place. An egyptian museum in San Jose. When I first heard about it, I was skeptical. I mean, How good can an egyptian museum in united states be? I can’t even think of a link between in ancient egypt and the native indians of America.

The Abu Simbel Replica

But this was good! Yepp. They had a pretty good collection of artefacts which included a real mummy and a beautifully crafted full size replica of a tomb. The museum campus also has the egyptian architecture pattern written all over it. Suresh and myself reached the place by 4:30 pm and were there till 6:00 pm. And they also had a really cute girl – Kamun (*smirk* and đŸ˜‰ ) to conduct a guided tour inside the tomb replica.

One thing we found strange was that they had a gallery on Da Vinci. Though I couldnt work out the link between egypt and Da Vinci, the gallery included replicas of many of Da Vinci’s works including paintings of Mona Lisa, Last Supper and working models (like the flying machine).

In all, The Rosicrucian Museum is one place you must visit if you are in these parts of california. Check out more photos here.
