More on Sai Baba

After the post on Sai Baba, I spent the last couple of hours reading more on him and watching some really disturbing and interesting videos on him. The more I see those, the more angry I feel for having gone there yesterday to get his “divine” darshan and more angry that I took my mom with me for this!

The stuff that I read in the internet were too disgusting to discuss here. But, if even 1% of those are true, then I hate myself for being born in a country that allows something like this to go on. Remember what was done to MJ (A man who was once every teen’s idol; about whom once the radio said “Your success is an american dream come true.”) when the stories of abuse surfaced? He was literally raped by the public and media. Now he is a living joke for everyone. But, with so many people out there accusing him and are ready to testify, I am surprised or rather shocked that my country’s legal system is so full of crap that nothing is being done. Then again maybe the stuff in the internet are not entirely true. But, has there ever been a transparent investigation into these allegations? These are what I could summarize from the stuff that i read on the internet –

  1. He is not always solemn and humble
  2. He is strongly connected at all levels of politics that governs my country
  3. He does not perform miracles
  4. He does perform conjurer’s tricks (which have been exposed in many videos)
  5. He has refused to perform these “miracles” in a controlled environment
  6. His mass advice sessions are more of mass hypnotism or controlled brainwashing sessions
  7. He has more money and power than probably most politicians in India
  8. People from all over the world have come to India to fall prey to his antics
  9. Many have accused of sexual abuses and advances
  10. Most of the stories of abuse seem to have similarities
  11. He is Gay
  12. People who speak against him are eliminated systematically

Some interesting links –

  1. Sex Scandals
  2. Pro-Sai site exposing some allegations as false and tailored
  3. Some realling interesting read
  4. Some really thought provoking videos
  5. Some excerpts from former students of the Sai educational institutions and reformed devotees

Now, what have I done here? Is this stuff ok enough to be posted on my blog? Will unhappiness befall me because I have spoken against the holy? Have I just trampled over the religious sentiments of millions? Hey! Its just my thoughts. I am not insulting anyone’s beliefs. I am not revoking any relegion. If you are offended by the content of what I have written, just ignore this post as the ramblings of an ignorent person. If you agree or disagree over anything feel free to leave a comment. I am just speaking out loud based on what I saw in the internet. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe I am not.

Update* –

One California scientist’s introductory remarks here precede the transcribed text of The (second, ie, Sathya) Sai Baba’s “78th Birthday Anniversary” Speech on the “Year 2003” annual occasion of the graduation/commencement of his school students, given at his main ashram (called Prashanti Nilayam, “Abode of Perfect Peace”), in Puttaparthi, Andrah Pradesh province, southern India, Sunday, November 23, 2003.

The first Sai Baba is called Shirdi Sai Baba after the village of Shirdi where he lived, taught Muslims and Hindus and others alike, predicted his “spirit” coming again as the “re-incarnated” second Sai Baba, and died in the number of years as predicted before the birth of Sathyanarayana Raju, who, as the below described narrative explains, became aware and recognized as the Second Sai Baba, called Sathya Sai Baba (Sathya = Truth) and sometimes referred to as Parthi Sai Baba after the name of his village Puttaparthi.

Sathya Sai Baba has said he will live into his 95th year before his physical body’s demise and that “He” will “come once more” as the Third Sai Baba in a predicted number of years later and place told, as Prema Sai Baba, (Prema = Love) the Third Sai Baba in this spiritual lineage of the “Triple Sai Avatara,” all come as have previous genuine Avatars from India (Bharat), The Rama Avatar, The Krishna Avatar, The Shiva Avatar, (et al) and, from the Hindu view, others such as The Jesus Christ Avatar, all “come to Earth” to offer their “One Path Teachings” by living as disciplined and disciplinary examples/disciples of The Oneness of God, The Oneness of Truth, the Oneness of Love, and The Oneness of Peace, all innate to the Human Mind as The Oneness Spiritual Unity Understanding of The One God and of The One Law, The God of Love and The Law of Love.

In reading The Sai Baba’s messages and speeches, noticing carefully the “third person” references to the “physical human embodiment” one must for accurate understanding keep in mind “who” it is that is being referred to (this “re-incarnated Sai”) as the “I” in the “first person” parts of these talks and messages, ie, “The Sai” (“Psyche ‘psi’ of The Oneness”), the “character well portrayed” by “Its” human being embodiment form called the Bhagawan Swami Sri Sathya Sai Baba who “does what he does” by use of Language and Mind and very deep understanding of The Oneness.

Abiout a month ago, there was a similar article on him by Hindustan Times editor Vir Sanghvi who stated that there were too many adverse facts against him. The very next week, there were protests from various citixens that Mr Sanghvi had written something totally wrong in the name of freedom of press and should issue an apoloty or they would withdraw reading the Hindustn Times. The newspaper published the letter to the editor but did not give an apology.

What surprises is why so many eminent people follow him.

I think you have taken the first step in making a decision to see for your self what this SAI BABA is all about. Thru your curiosity you had the opportunity to visit numerous websites containing some favourable and unfavourable content.
I am sure with passage of time things will become clearer to you and will get to know the truth. Do not miss out on this as this is the pheomenon of the century and we are contemprary and are living at the same time as he is on the earth.

I understand ,it is very difficult for a rational mind to understand this phenomenon and appreciate.Nevertheless, you have to experience this to be convinced of the phenomenon. It is like as long as the sweetness of a fruit is merely described, one can can doubt the descriptions, though perhaps a little less when thry come from a great number of sources. But no criticism or judgement can condition the experience of actually tasting the fruit.Only an illness can render the palate incapable of tasting or cause nausea when you wat a delicacy. In the same way no one can condition the experience of the bliss and love which radiate from SAI BABA. It is for you to to exprience and i suggest you go with an empty mind and you will see the results for your self. My suggestion to you is that you taste in order to belive it..Only by experience you can lend credibility to your judgement on BABA. All the best.

Meanwhile, it will be great if you could go thru the link and read a reply by a scientist on all the allegation flying around .

    Anant,
Its really refreshing to see someone talk rationally on this topic. So far I have heard statements like – “if u don’t know for sure, dont talk”, “why do u want to make controversial statements about holy people”.

Your response was different and I really appreciate that. I am not here to blindly say Sai Baba is bad. I would love to know more about the man.

But, no matter what I would read. I have one thing to say – I believe in God. And I really don’t *want to* believe that my God is some mortal being walking on the same streets as I do in the same time as I do doing jugglery and badly-practiced kids magic to impress people.

Tell me Sai baba is great MAN, a Philosopher, a Social Worker etc. I wouldn’t have any complaints in accepting that. All these are men. And even if those sex scandals and allegations are true, its entirely understandable because a MAN, a Philosopher, a Social Worker – all of them are humans. They can have peculiar sexual preferences/fantasies. I really don’t care. But, tell me that he is a God. Then, I have a real problem in accepting that my god would be just another mere mortal with weaknesses like the rest.

All said, I really appreciate your patience in writing to me. I would certainly take your advice. I will read more. I might even try to once visit puttaparthi to see him. I might try many routes before shunning him from my mind as a waste of time.

Keep up th good work man. I think you can go in more deep, put some videos showing his fake “miracles”. We need more people to come out against him. Are we a nation of cowards that we allow a paedophile and trickster go unpunished. Is’nt it a shame that millions worship him as “god” while innocent children are being raped by him? He is a shame on our country.

Your questions are surely those of a sincere heart. You ask:

‘Now, what have I done here? Is this stuff ok enough to be posted on my blog? Will unhappiness befall me because I have spoken against the holy? Have I just trampled over the religious sentiments of millions?’

Is it not our prime duty to ourselves, above all, to speak the truth as we see it? Have not millions of people benefitted throughout history because there were those few who questioned received ‘wisdom’?

There are those who contest against every former devotee of Sathya Sai Baba who speaks out. It is very ironical, because, in some cases for decades (in my own case for twenty-five years) those who are now former devotees of Sathya Sai Baba spoke with the same love for and trust in him. In the way Sai Baba has spoken in the Christmas discourse of 2000, and so many of his devotees, it is as though, overnight, former devotees have become “thousands of Judases”, “demons”, “disgruntled”, are disaffected because they have missed out on an interview with Sai Baba, and so on. One is shunned, reviled, slandered, has one’s words wrenched far out of context, the uses of fallacies like argumentam ad hominem, tu quoque retorts, anachronistic assumptions and so forth are deployed, one receives death and other types of threats, etc. However, conscience is king and the heart is queen and confer a happiness in the face of the the ignorance.

Millions followed monsters like Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. There were noble souls who raised questions about them and other such monsters, and were prepared to die for raising them. From the age of sixteen Mahatma Gandhi and other great freedom fighters were my heroes. We are in their debt. They are the few beacons that we have. Amost unimaginable Lights in almost intolerable darkness. It is easy to go the way of millions, who are not able to question critically but become fodder for the unjust and power hungry. I trust that you are as ready to ask strong questions of former devotees as you are of devotees. It is not the questioners who do ill; it is the slanderers, and those more bent on scoring points than in being patient and listening with the heart – using the heart as well as the intellect.

But yes – unhappy, you ask? Why unhappy, if there is a joy to living by conscience and truth – even though believers in some ism may twist and distort what are but truthful questions arising out of a caring heart? It is the very lack of questioning that brings such unhappiness to the earth. We had best have far more of the quesioning spirit. Bless you.

Barry Pittard is one of about a handful of currently vocal internet defamers against Sai Baba. Pittard & Co have repeatedly and unremittingly defamed Sathya Sai Baba as a “pedophile” although he has never been charged with any crime (sexual or otherwise) and although he has never had even one single complaint lodged against by any child or parent of a child for sexual impropriety. No alleged victim has filed a basic police complaint or court case against Sai Baba in India. No one has even tried! It is also significant to point out that Barry Pittard fully believes (to this day) that Sathya Sai Baba does possess genuine paranormal powers and he concedes that the sheer magnitude of Sathya Sai Baba’s internationl miracles (not associated directly with physical form) do happen and are real.

To date, no Anti-Sai Activist or alleged victim have been hurt or “eliminated”. Such claims are bold-faced and unsupported lies.

Barry Pittard’s lies, embellishments and deception have been fully documented (although I have not been able to keep up with his relentless psycho-babble because he works full-time spamming his Anti-Sai material throughout the internet). See for yourself:

    Hi,
Whatever information that comes our way has two things. The info has to be either –

    1) Truth or
    2) False

Giving ears to false news needs nothing. you just have to ‘Believe it’ on the first impression.

But for truth, you have to experiment. It needs faith. It takes time.

Thus many people mistake Sathya Sai Baba – BECAUSE, to believe what you hear is EASY. Whereas to REALISE truth, you need to put effort and experiment.

Sathya sai Baba needs to be experimented and then commented – in my personal opinion.

Sometimes – as Paramahansa Yogananda says “Spirituality is the other way round. You have to believe to see it. Where as the material world believes in something after seeing it”.

Check out the book “Love is my Form” – which has rarest pics and info right from his childhood days.

Alas, temple/church/centres all springup only after the physical form of a holy being has left the earth. And people also start developing faith “more” only after the physical body of the saint or guru has been cremated or buried. That has always been the norm in our human society – till date, even if you take the life of Shirdi Sai for instance.

Instead of putting faith on the newspapers, internet or magazines – taking effort to realise the truth is more rewarding. The effort can never go wasted.

Believe me – This person is a Cosmic Visitor. He is greatly mistaken.

False news about him spread like anything about him. Likewise, good news and miracle news that are exaggerated about him by his devotees out of excitement also spreads fast.

Lets not believe in both of them. Sincere experimentation will reveal the truth. Unless once life circumstances pushes a person to take this journey, none can experiment a guru/saint/avatar. Nor the desire to experiment will rise.

SO OF ALL – As Bhagawan Ramana Maharishi said ” To be Silent is the best”. Truth will come out oneday on its own accord.

My personal word on Sathya Sai Avatar would be – “He is Pure”. I suspect many of the so called “Anti news” might be a part of this game in this Avatars Life Journey.

Barry Pittard is the member of a Sathya Sai Baba hate group which has been spamming the internet for several years with complete disinformation regarding Sai Baba. And now that Barry Pittard is being held accountable for his lies, he is playing the ‘victim’ and claiming he is being stalked (without proof, as is his usual tactic). If you leave a comment on Pittard’s blog that he doesn’t like, he will censor it and claim he is being stalked. This is how childish and dishonest Barry Pittard is, mostly because he cannot defend his outrageous lies and he knows it.

Barry Pittard was booted from the ashram in 1982 for spreading the same vicious lies he is now repeating on the internet. There are absolutely NO Indian ‘children’ who have EVER claimed to have been molested. The identifiable accusers are all adult males, foreign nationals and mostly white. Upon close inspection, their stories do not hold up and so it is very easy to see just why none of them have dared to file police reports. Accusers Conny Larsson and Tal Brooke appear to be trying to make money and gain fame by selling their books. Robert Priddy seems to be similarly motivated. It appears many accusers thought they might get some money from a lawsuit if they jumped on the anti-Sai bandwagon and claimed they were ‘molested’.

I believe Barry Pittard’s suspicious ties to anti-Semites/white supremacists and particularly his recent anti-guru, anti-India diatribes expose him as a white supremacist. The longer this internet smear campaign goes on, the more Pittard seems to be spiraling out of control, throwing temper tantrums and acting like the frustrated drama queen actor he is, all the while hiding out behind his keyboard avoiding accountability.

The internet smear campaign against Sai Baba as well as other Indian gurus is the perfect example as to why people are considered innocent unless proved otherwise in a court of law.
