Twitter with Google Talk

Wow!!! Twitter has integrated itself with Google Talk. Now, I can post stuff on twitter through Google Talk. Is this buzzzzz or the beginning of another mashup model? Once you configure it, Twitter gets added to your GTalk contact list as a contact. From there on, you can send messages to Twitter and it gets posted immediately on your twitter homepage. Integrating IMs with postnig services online?

Check it out –

Orkut already supports scraps through GTalk. But that was kind of expected because both are Big G’s products. Where else can we use this model? To post in wordpress blogs? 😉 (Matt…!!! Are you hearing this?????)

PS: I still haven’t understood why should I twitter in the first place 😀 …. I am pretty excited about the technology side of it!

    The only issue is that the Twitter bot is a bit flaky, and will often go offline for long periods. The nice part about Twitter is the range of ways that you can update it – IM, SMS or Web.

    Twitter has a bunch of uses – a location service, a kind of light IM service, a diary, a light blog… plus it is frighteningly addictive.

    Check out this tutorial that doesn’t use the twitterbot, and posts from your gtalk status automatically

    I just finished up a tutorial on posting to twitter automatically
    using your Gtalk status message.
    It’s located here:

    Check it out and let me know what you think.

    Yahoo! Messenger also has a plugin which lets you update tweet from it.
