So, after Apple its Google now? Google taking chat and mail to the next level? A Google Phone???? I wonder what they would call it? GMobile BETA? 😀 I wonder whatever happened to all those Business Strategists who used preach the theology of focus on business and diversification after establishing in one sector. Already we have the leading mobile players – Nokia, Motorola, Motorola, Sony Ericsson etc – scrambling around to outsmart each other. Now, we can see the web 2.0 players entering the scene. I wonder how long would it be before we have Micro$oft phone etc in the market????

So far, Google has had some good success getting mobile versions of it search and mapping software onto cell phones, so why get into the crazy handset business? Like Apple, Google has a tricky relationship with the cellphone operators that distribute and control the wireless experience (in the U.S. at least.) Google has been one of the most vocal proponents of so-called Net Neutrality, which would prevent phone operators such as AT&T (T) and Verizon (VZ), which own the nation’s largest wireless operations, from giving certain kinds of network traffic priority on their broadband networks.
