Blog Acquisition. What next?

With Indian IT majors on a global acquisition spree, I am really not surprised that Acquiring popular business/technology centric blogs is the next in line for mergers and acquisitions!

The term ‘Blog Acquisition’ may sound a bit too over the top but then I thought this term would be apt for what I’m about to describe now. In the first of its kind activity in the blogosphere, we have recently acquired the blog http://colorfulcreationz.blogspot.com (Colorful Thoughtz) which now features as a part of ‘In The Orbit’ at the link http://photos.intheorbit.com

One may argue as to what’s so dramatic about this so called acquisition. Read on for more info.

Well, the blog acquisition that you are talking about has been done by me, but let me clarify that the recent inorganic consolidation spree by Indian cos has got nothing to do with it.

Moreover, unlike corporate acquisitions this one did not involve any form of monetary exchange. However, money would start coming into play now when the acquired blog starts generating revenue. So in a way in this case we begin at the break-even point plus an intangible benefit in the form of goodwill.

There could be loads of variations to blog mergers and acquisitions and some may prove to be very advantageous. This is just a very vague impression of things to come. May be a bit of brain-storming from all of us could help. In case you do have some plans in mind, feel free to mail me at ashutosh@intheorbit.com

If you live in Weston Florida and plan on refinancing an existing mortgage or get a new mortgage beware of scam artist Tulio J. Rodriguez. This so called “Mortgage & Finance Specialist” will tell you just about anything to get your business. His group of scavengers “Real Estate Agents and Mortgage Specialists” lie through their teeth to take your money.
